NIKE L'ETAPE DU TOUR TEAM RIDE

This Sunday 16th the Nike L'Etape du Tour, that is also fundraising for the ALS foundation, did the last team ride of the year before leaving for the Tour de France. The team did 156 kms hard and fast riding in the Veluwe park, around Arnhem. Now, 3 weeks for the big day in Annecy and of fundraising!

See after the link how the ride went.

The ride started at 9:00 am with a good tempo pace until the bottom of Posbank. Speed was straight to 37 kms/h and the team was really eager to push hard. From there the group was split in 3 sub-groups to allow everybody to push at their maximum but not create bottlenecks in the climbs as the region was already very busy with cyclists.

Two groups were fast and a bigger slow group was formed. The fast groups climbed the Posbank 6 times from different sides and the slow group did it 4 times. The great thing about Posbank is that it has 7 ways to get to the top and the group did a 8 shape riding to complete it. Great effort.

After the climbs, the group relaxed in the Arnhem water museum and restaurant before tacking the last part of the ride. From there 56 kms to go where our cars were parked in Harderwijk. Good tailwind and speeds of 37 to 40 kms/h from the get go. Even when the wind became cross wind or head wind the team push hard and kept the same speed.

Swirling fast on the turns were dangerous at some point, exciting in others and showed who has good technique and who need to learn more. Great effort of the overall team that is ready for the french mountains!  You can motivate the team even more by donating to the ALS foundation. See above how to do it.
